My very first Gypsy Horse! It's hard to believe that my Ruby is thirteen years old now. Don't let her age fool you though...she is young at heart and still producing some very fine foals. This foaling season was very special for me as Ruby had her very first filly!
Kind and gentle are the words I use to describe Ruby. She stands a whopping 15.3 hh and exhibits the traits most sought after in Gypsy Horses here in the United States, heavy and traditional with tons of quality. While she is quite heavy in feather, at the moment she is lacking in mane and tail. It seems that little Miss June Bug just loves to chew her mama's mane and tail. Not to worry, her hair grows so fast that it should all be back by next spring.
Ruby is generous as she passes on to her foals her quiet and gentle demeanor along with her exceptional build. Her foals are so nice that out of the four she has had here with me, there are still three left on the farm that have no plans to leave any time soon. There is something about Ruby's kids that makes me want to keep them here forever!
Ruby's lineage is unknown. She is registered with the Gypsy Cob Society.
